McDreamy Owns Tiger?

You might be asking yourself, "What a view, but where have I seen this before?" The answer depends on who you are.

If you are my brother, or any other paraglider in the Seattle area, you know this is the view from the top of launch at Tiger Mountain. One day I may jump off this mountain strapped to my brother, but not today. Sorry Jared. :)

If you are a Grey's Anatomy fan like myself, you would know this view from the season finally when Derick and the boys are standing on his land looking out. I was proud of myself for knowing this view right away as Tiger Mountain and not the 21 acres that Derick supposedly owns.

As my brother and I were out to dinner this week, I mentioned to him that Tiger had some great shots on Grey's this week. He said, "Oh ya I head that. We sometimes get notices that film crews are going to be up there." I tried to keep my cool (as being obsessed about a TV show is not the greatest hobby for an adult to have) and said, "Seriously. You have to tell me next time you get a notice and we are totally stalking them."

I sure hope there is a great follow up post to this discovery in the very near future.

Discovery at Discovery Park

So Discovery Park is like 5 minutes from our house and everyone is always ranting and raving about it. This weekend Steph and I decided to pretend like we were outdoors people and hike through the park and I must say it was well worth it. Aside from the tiny lighthouse the everyone build up, it exceeded my expectations.

Here is Steph and I walking through the park. Keep in mind this is no small park. It is 534 acres.

I was so disappointed by the little lighthouse that I made Steph flip it off. Come on...you call that a light house.

The beach was beautiful and the weather was perfect. All I needed to make it even better was a Diet Coke and my book. I would have been set for the rest of the day.

Who knew this was in my backyard. I think I just discovered another one of the many things that will keep me in Seattle for a long time.

Thanks Doc

Wow, wow, wow....wow. I don't even know where to begin.

This morning I had my doctors appointment at the womans clinic. The workers there were great! All very nice, chatty and made me feel very comfortable even though I felt like bursting into tears in the lobby for no apparent reason.

So the doctor comes in and we start chatting about my medical history. It went a little something like this:
Doc: Do you smoke
Me: No
Doc: Do you drink
Me: No
Doc: Are you sexually active
Me: No
Doc: Previously sexually active
Me: No
Doc: Ah, wow....ok...um....well, do you have a partner or someone of interest
Me: No. I would like to say I am lying to you, but it's all true
I will NOT go into the details of what happened next as I am trying to block it all from my mind so I don't start crying again. Why does the doctor always make me cry?

She poked and prodded me, sent my blood away to be tested for a few things she was concerned about, gave me a prescription, and patted me on the arm and told me I should hit the gym.

Was she telling me to go to the gym because I need to loose a few pounds or because she wrote virgin in big capital letters on my chart. I can't wait to see her again in 6 to 8 weeks.

This Is My Confession

This past Sunday I was asked to give a talk in church. I was a little nervous since I was not feeling totally inspired by the topic. Things were going smoothly until I started to make reference to a conference talk and introduced it with a, "As you may remember from this last conference...." right as I looked up and made eye contact with Steph. She was laughing which in turn made me start to laugh and loose my concentration.

You see, this past conference weekend Jill was visiting. We wanted to see the city and decided to Tivo conference and watch it later. If I am being really honest here, we always Tivo conference so we can fast forward through the songs. Well, all 8 hours are still in our Tivo unwatched. I guess I was not totally lying in my talk because I am sure they did remember the talk I was referencing. It was just me and Steph and would not "remember" it.

I feel guilty every time I turn on the Tivo, but I just can't bring myself to watch it. Now don't go preaching to me....I know, I know. I can say that ever since the conference Ensign arrived I have read one article every night. I actually think I am getting more out of it this way because I am not fighting off a conference nap. So in about 3 more weeks, I should be all caught up and guilt free.

What Would Jesus Do?

I don't really know why, but I laughed really hard at the following bumper sticker yesterday.
What would Jesus do for a Klondike bar?

F'n H E

Thanks to the guilt trip from D's IM conversation I went to FHE and aside from it taking me 35 minutes to get there, I managed ok. I met a few people, ate some food, and tried to analyze my fellow ward members first hand.

My favorite conversation went a little something like this:
Me - How are things going for you this week?
Her - Great!
Me - Really, no complaints?
Her - No, I can't even think of one complaint.
Me - Come on, not even one?
Her - No, everything is perfect.
Me (In my head) - Bitch is crazy....abort!
Maybe this is why I am slow to make friends at church?

I had to get gas on the way home and sadly the station did not take credit. I walked up to the window, give him all the cash I had on me (a whopping $10) and and said, "ah, I guess I'm only getting 2 gallons of gas tonight."

Pathetic.

What a A Day

I was all ready to start the work week off on a high note. Last night I had an amazing meal with my brothers followed up by a pretty funny game of Scategories. I slept well and was crawling out of bed as the sun was shining in right on time. I was almost to the shower when my phone range and it went down hill from there.

It was my bank informing me there were fraudulent charges made on my account over the weekend. I ran to my computer and found that someone had charged over $6,000 to the most random places ever. For next 65 minutes, I was on the phone getting things resolved as I watched my on time work departure come and go while still in my pajamas.

I finally showered, found a parking spot and started my molasses like computer around 10:00 while trying to put out work fires from my blackberry. Good thing I grabbed some lunch on my way out the door because not only was there no time to leave and grab something, but thanks to this morning I don't have anyway to pay for anything until I make it to the bank for some cash.

I have been sitting in my office all day working on the most mundain project I keep putting off all the while freazing. I can't feel my fingers 0r toes and my nose is ice cold. I go through this everyday. My office is strangly like an Ice Box. Four feet away in the hall....fine....in my office....freezing. I have even had the maintenance people come and check it out, but they were good for thing. I have been so cold for so long today I am pretty sure I am getting sick. So today while I inhaled my pasta salad, I purchased a space heater online with the only remaining active piece of plastic I have to my name. Let's just hope the thief's out there don't get a hold of my credit card as well.

On top of all this, I received an email indicating the concert I was going to on Wednesday has been postponed until August.

I am now debating on whether I am going to FHE or not. I should go to meet people, but I don't feel well. It is only a BBQ, but I have to go alone and it is in BFE. It would be nice to not have to make dinner, but I am sure it will be outside and I am already freezing.

What to do, what to do......

Doctor Doctor

I have been meaning to make a doctors appointment for quite sometime now. Being in a new place and not really knowing any, I logged onto my insurance page and started looking down the list. Some people want to know everything about their doctor like what their specialties are, references, etc. Me, I was all about the name. I now have a doctors appointment with Dr. Knickerbocker. I hope she is as good in person as she is on paper.

I Heart Visitors

So this post is only about 4 weeks late, but whatever. I have been busy ok.

Our friend Jill drove up to Seattle with Steph for her big move and was able to stay with us for a few days and do the tourist thing. We laughed a lot, did a little shopping and did not even get rained on.
Where else would you start, but at Pikes Market.

Jill loves to take pictures. I hate taking them, but always love having them...why is that? Here Steph and I are doing out best "we will be good sports about taking pictures" pose. I was just excited I got donuts for doing it.

Next it was off to the troll under the bridge. Nice nose pick Steph.

Jill loves to take pictures herself. We ended up with quite a few funny shots of the three of us that Jill took while being in the picture. Here is one of them at Gas Works Park.

Jill, sorry about all of the cat hair you took back with you.

On Sunday, we drove up to the Tulip Festival. I know, these are daffodils. I guess the tulips bloomed so late this year they had to extend the event two week. We never did find any tulips, but the fields of daffodils were beautiful.

Steph was so tired from moving, but we could not resist getting a picture of this. I believe she called us "butt holes" when she figured out what we were doing.

And of course Jill wanted to ride the fairy looking for McDreamy.

Jill come back soon. I miss ya already.

I Heart Moe's

Before I moved, I sold my old kitchen table and have been looking everywhere for the exact new one I wanted. I made Steph go to Ikea multiple times and every other furniture store I could find along the way. Alas I found the furniture store of my dreams; Moe's. I know from the name it sounds like a sketchy place, but let me tell you, if I had a place large enough and an unlimited check book, I would have bought one of everything in there.

Look at me. I was so happy and Steph is happy to have a kitchen table again. I never knew there was such a thing as furniture heaven.

Summer Concert Line Up

In the last 24 hours, I have purchased tickets to some great concerts and have a few more yet to buy. It's going to be a great summer.

Here is the line up thus far:
Brett Dennon/Mason Jennings/Missy Higgins
Robyn
The True Colors Tour
Indigo Girls
Marc Broussard

I am also planning on going to the Sasquatch Music Festival, Bumpershoot, a music cruise or two, and LOTS OF BRANDI CARLILE!!!!

I can't wait!

Easy Street

I drive past Easy Street Records almost daily and am always intrigued. This past weekend I ventured in and am in love. It is the perfect, slightly trashy, local record store. I purchased Madonna's new album and Robyn's album, which I am obsessed with. And any record store that throws in a few Robyn single entitled Konichiwa Bitches wins my business. Thanks Easy Street. See you next week.

Curly, Straight, and All In Between

My hair is ridiculous and bipolar and if you are not careful, Bon Jovi comes out to play.

As If You Need Another Reason

If you have not found a deep obsession with Brandi Carlile yet like I have, watch this video around minute 2:30 and tell me you don't like what you hear.

People ask what you would wish for if you only had one wish. Hands down, my wish would be to have an amazing singing voice. Maybe next time around.

Oh...hell no!

I am all about saving the children by not exposing them to clowns. Don't people know clowns are just straight up creepy?
