Ode to DataTard

There once was a place called DataTard
It tried to do work, but made it real hard.

The workers came each and everyday
but for some work was just ping pong to play.

They moved between departments to learn new skills
when really all they wanted was pay their bills.

One by one the good workers quit
but all management did was throw a fit.

They expressed their frustrations and what was wrong
but again all they did was to play more ping pong.

Changes needed to occur, and some people fired
but it never happened so we all got real tired.

Slowly, but surely we all said farewell
Thanks DataTard for the few years of hell.

I'm Funny! :)

I say holy cow
as I think of how

that sums up the way
I've spent every day

I work morn til eve
waiting to leave

and on the way home
my mind starts to roam

And then I assess
if my day held success

and realized I failed
in all that I mailed

I start to feel bad
but then change to glad

For all that went wrong
At least I won at ping pong

There once was a boy from Nantucket. . .

The end of that little limmerick is about the same attitude that 90% of people have at DataTard. . . if it were a real place that is.

Oh, and if you don't know how the limmerick ends, take your mind to the most beckon point and rhyme Nantucket.

Good work Linds. . . creative juices are flowing!

I don't know the specifics of DataTard but your expereience, as briefly described here, seems very typicall of corporate America. I've learned the hard way that large companies don't change. If you end up hating your job this much it's just better to move on. At least that has been my experience.
