Self Reflection Weekend

This weekend I have done a lot of reflecting on the past, present, and future.

Past:
I have been de-junking my house which means going through old memorabilia. I had some really good times in college. I also had some really hard times, but luckily I remember more of the good then the bad. I kissed a lot of boys, but was never very good at dating them; why? I had a lot of really close friends, but have lost contact with most of them for different reasons. By the time I was out of college, I felt like I had been through more then I should have; why? what does that mean is going to happen in the future?

Present:
Friday night I went to the Regina Spektor concert (add her to my list). It was in this trashy little venue that was way too crowed and reeked of smoke. A friend I was with said, "Can you believe that some people spend every weekend in places like this?" It made me think, am I really that person? Do I spend my time wisely?

Future:
I also saw the movie "Into the Wild." I had read the book, but thought they did a pretty good job with the movie. It really made me reflect on life. Am I passionate about the right things? Am I happy with where I am in life? Am I the person I want to be and thought I would be? Where do I want to be in life next year at this time?

My conclusions:
1. I love music, am passionate about it, and feel great about it
2. I am going to work on being a better friend and work on contacting some of my past friends
3. Overall, I like who I am
4. I need to figure out what I want my life to be like next year at this time
5. Life is all about the people you have to share it with, nothing else matters

Linds - I think you are an amazing woman. I often find myself wishing I had a little more "Lindsay" in me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. By the way, the pic of you on your profile is fantastic! Love your guts... big sis Jody

PS - I kind of want to get the new Brittney Spears CD. Is that bad? I trust your judgement on this one.

Hey chief,

My sister went to that same concert. She said Regina told everybody to F-off a couple of times. Rock and roll.

I'm going to add you to my blogroll.

my girl...i like to look back and reflect on my life every now and then like this. i know you've had a couple of rough patches along the way the past couple of years but let me just say for the record how wonderful i think you are. you're one of the most generous, hilarious, and beautiful people i know inside and out. i know you didn't write this blog to get smashed with compliments but you need to hear it sometimes too. i dig on regina's music but hear her personality is a bit whacked. who's isn't these days?
