Just like every other girl out there, I love the movie Dirty Dancing. Come on...with such great quotes as:
" Nobody puts baby in the corner"
"I carried a watermelon" and
"God wouldn't have given you maracas if He didn't want you to shake 'em" how can you not love it!
Not only are the quotes great, but Patrick Swayze sings on the soundtrack and John Holbrook and I made out to it once...can it get any better? Seriously!
I was watching it again last night and had a pretty sad realization. I know that it is a movie which in turn means it would never happen in real life, but Johnny would have never gone for Baby. Think about it. Baby volunteers to help cover for Penny. Johnny does not like her and is pretty rude to her during practice. One day she yells at him for not teaching her how to do the lift and next thing you know, they are in love. Even for a fake movie, it would have never happened.
I am sad to come to this cynical realization. Maybe this is why it never worked out with John and I? hummmm.....

ok do not get ben started on dirty dancing because he will go on and on about how it is the dumbest movie ever made. i however disagree, knowing that it is a classic that will never die! dance on patrick, DANCE ON.
