Tonight I went went to the Art's Festival and picked up a bunch of free $3 off admission coupons at the gas station on my way. I figured out that I had a few extra so in the parking lot I gave two of them to the guys parked next to me. These guys were clearing not going for the art, but to pick up on girls. They asked what I wanted for them and could not believe I did not want a thing. I was offered beer and money for them, but told them to just pass it on. As they turned to walk away they said "Shit girl....the world needs more people like you." More then anything, this made me feel sad that they were so impressed that I would give them free coupons.
After the festival, I went to the grocery store. As I was checking out, and checking out the cashier, an older guy with special needs was hanging out. I could tell the cashier new they guy and he started to tell me that Richard had just won a gold medal in the 100 meter dash with the Special Olympics. Richard started telling me all about it while the cashier chimed in and helped him brag. Richard then hit me up for a dollar so he could get a diet coke tomorrow. The cashier asked if he already drank all of his Gatorade from today, trying to give me an out, but what's a dollar to me. I told Richard I had a dollar if he could help me carry out my groceries. He loved this idea. As Richard and I started to leave, the cashier looked me in the eye and said "thanks....and it's his birthday tomorrow....make sure to ask him about it." The cashier was not only cute, but was also the type of person I want to be. He was very patient, carrying, and kept doing his job while entertaining Richard. If only he was not married.....dang it!
Today, I wish people remember that we are all hear together and to treat everyone with human kindness.

Very cool story.
You make special people carry your groceries. Okay, it was sweet. But Lindsay, the cashier? Please say it was Wild Oats and not Albertsons.
