The Fray

A few weeks ago Stephanie and I went to see The Fray in concert. I started to like them after hearing their songs on my favorite show Grey's Anatomy. They played a great show. They sang all of my favorite songs and the feeling in the room was amazing. The concert was in this little field house that was sold out. The Fray are still small enough that they have a pretty devoted and small following. It was great. For their encore song, they played "How To Save A Life" and on the last chorus they stopped playing and the entire audience sang it together. I love moments like this in life. It is amazing feeling the energy in a room while everyone sings in unison. I like to think there will be a lot of this in heaven, but I hope we can sing more then just church hymns.

Aside from the end, my second favorite part was when they sang Weezer, Sweater song. It took me back to my high school days and the crowd went wild and sang along.

The great night continued as we waited for the place to clear out. They turned on the lights and started playing music. Everyone was taking their time leaving the field house when they started playing Neil Diamond's Sweet Carolyn. Again, everyone started singing in unison. Why is it that whenever Sweet Carolyn starts playing everyone sings....you just can't help it....try it. Think of the words to the song and I dare you to not sing Bum, Bum, Bum....good times never felt so good.

All in all, it was an amazing, spiritual, fun, and unforgettable night.

I got to thinking I hadn't heard Sweet Caryolin and to my amazement it wasn't in my Neil Diamond collection. It's now there.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like one of those great moments in life.

I must also add that this could be one of the greatest little concerts ever of my new favorite band!
