Miami

Arrived in Miami after a long day of travel. My hair started growing in size the minute I stepped off the plane. I was amazed at the number of mullets walking around the airport and could not help but laugh as the shuttle bus driver rocked out to Selina living up to my stereotype of Miami. Met a few people going on the cruise in the lobby and am now too excited to sleep.

Bon Voyage.

That's A Wrap

Today we finished another successful photo shoot for work. We've been in Toronto to shoot winter lifestyle images because you know, Toronto has lots of snow this time of year....except this year. Small problem, but not one we could not fix. As we arrived on location, the "snow men" were hard at work making freaking snow! They blew some foamy stuff into the trees and shoved the largest pieces of ice I have even seen into a jumbo wood chipper type machine to blow actual snow on the rest of the park.

Here is Sunny and I still warm in the early morning sun in front of our fake snow. Looks pretty freaking real doesn't it.

Later in the afternoon, we moved to a street location in a high traffic area and our snow making and large photo setup attracted quite a few spectators. One of them was very chatty with me (because strangers love talking to me) and could not get over the fact we were paying these "models" to just stand there and smile. He wanted to know how he could be a model and also told me I was much pretty then the girl we were shooting. You should know, the model we were shooting was Miss Russia. I almost kissed him right then and there! By the end of our 8 hour outdoor shoot we were all freezing to the bone, but this girl still managed to run 4 miles before dinner. Impressive, I know.

Thankfully today's location was indoors and much more low key. Finished by 5:00 and I ran again before hitting up room service. Flying to Miami tomorrow and setting sail on my cruise Saturday. Such a rough life. I know.

Can't Sleep

I leave for my music cruise this week and I can't wait. I have not been this excited about anything in a long time. I mean, think about it. It's all inclusive, I get to lay on the beach all day, go to concerts all night, have no cell service, and not have access to the internet. It's like the cruise gods put it together just for me. Thanks for that guys.

My goals for this vacation:
- Get a TAN (not a sunburn)
- Run at least twice
- Gain 5 pounds (I figured I have a pretty good chance of this and I always like accomplishing my goals so why not set realistic ones.)

Aunt Lindsay

My brother and I are taking a weekend trip to California to babysit these two crazy kids so their parents can have a little vacation.

While having dinner with my brother, the following conversation happened:
Jared: I'm worried Ike might get frustrated with us when we can't understand what he wants.
Linds: Oh for sure he will, but it's ok. It's not like he throws up all over himself when he gets upset or anything.
Macy - Put your tennis shoes on because we are going running along the beach while the boys watch Nemo.
Ike - Can't wait to wash the barf out of your shirt.

Who knew I would be this excited to babysit.

Yikes

While at the doctors office a few weeks ago I could not help, but snap a picture of this:

It reads, "Color for the hair down there." Really? People buy and use this stuff. Who are you people? No, wait. I don't want to know.

What has me even more worried was when I went back today and they were almost out. Apparently people are still willing to buy..ah..."hair color" even when they can't afford to pay the mortgage. It's nice to know Seattle has their priorities straight.

Good Morning

I woke up this morning to the feeling of cat on my face and the sense of sun shinning through the window. Well, the sun was shinning in the window, but I quickly discovered the cat on my face was cat butt smashed up against my face. Not how I wanted to kick off the day.

My Kind Of Day

I had what I think was the perfect Valentines Day. I slept in, did a little cleaning, ran 8 miles, ate cardboard box greasy pizza, then baked and frosted over 100 sugar cookies. See, perfect.

Ok, so maybe a hot man along the way would have made it a little better, but that did not stop me from having a great day.

Love you all.

It blows. Good thing I have an afternoon meeting in the form of Broadways The Lion King.

A Little Advice for Javon

Dear Javon,

As a personal trainer, I would have assumed you learned these rules back in your training days, but clearly I'm mistaken. Here are a few tips I have for you after this months weigh in.

1. Don't make your clients remind you it's time to weigh in and do measurements. You should be pushing to do this every month as success on this particular day is your biggest sales tool.

2. Use a balanced scale. Loosing lb's is what we are going for, so having a scale that is 4 pounds off can make or break a girls day. It's tacky when your client makes you weigh a 25 pound weight before she will get on the scale.

3. Don't under any circumstance ask a girl if her "pants have been feeling tighter in the thighs" because the answer is no you idiot. You are measuring my thigh at a different place each month.

Love Lindsay's jumbo thighs!

Oh What A Night

Friday night I had the chance to see another amazing Brandi Carlile show. I just can't get enough. Steph, Breann, and I loaded up on Diet Coke and headed up to Bellingham.

Gregory Alan Isakov opened the show and was great. He reminds me a lot of Ray Lamontagne. Brandi played a few songs with him and announced that he will be opening for her at her upcoming tour.

Brandi's performance did not disappoint. She opened playing Closer to You/I've Just Seen A Face and announced that she is going on tour so be excited to get more concert posts. She sounded great as usual and the acoustic set was refreshing. She even sang two brand new songs for the first time ever.

I had the chance to meet Brandi Carlile again after the show. I don't look great in this picture because Steph was saying something funny and Brandi was squeezing me. Yes squeezing me. I told her I was going on the cruise and she acted excited. I like to think we are BFF's now. :) In chatting with her, we also found out that her new album is coming out in August.

Thank you Brandi Carlile for another amazing concert and thanks for taking the time after the show to chat with us. I can't wait to see you perform again on the cruise in just 3 weeks!

Is This Real Life?

This video was taken after he just had some dental work. It cracks me up every time I watch it.

Amy Ray Concert

I knew we were in for a great night when we passed some crazy guy sitting in the road next to a parked car fake crying, rocking back and forth while causing traffic to back up. Never a dull moment in Capital Hill. We were meeting up with a friend and waiting at the entrance outside when Brandi stepped out of her trailer on her way into the venue. Steph and I both started freaking out (and Brandi might have as well since we could not stop staring and whispering back and forth about her).

Met up with Val and headed into the venue. We were trying to find a place to stand close to the stage, but not behind any tall people. There was a good spot in front of me so I turned to Steph to see if she wanted it. Her response, "No, then I will just be stuck behind that guy." My response, "Ah, that's a woman." Amy Ray pulls a very particular crowd and we were VERY MUCH the minority although I did get my butt pinched twice. Those ladies are so much friendlier then the men. :)

Amy Ray ROCKED IT. WOW. She rocked it so hard by the end of her set her entire shirt was soaked. Take a look. She sang a few songs she sang that I don't agree with, but still a great show.

Brandi Carlile came out and sang 7 or 8 songs with her as well which made it that much more amazing. She also sang The Story as part of the encore. She was so nervous which seemed strange to me since she has performed it a million times, but I guess doing it without the band can be a little nerve racking. Brandi's "friend" was standing right behind us so it was interesting to watch her reaction to Brandi's performance as well.

Great night, great adventures, and AMAZING music.
