Tricky

Friday morning my phone rang and not thinking anything of it I answered. It was creepy "T" from my church. He tricked me and I did not like it. At the beginning of the conversation, his story was that s getting a bunch of people together to go the Bee's game and wanted to know if I wanted in. Sure, sounds like fun and I have wanted to go to a game this season. BIG MISTAKE. By the end of the conversation, he was going to pick me up and we were doubling with his friend.

I hung up the phone and started to realize I had been tricked in a very mean way. I started debating and trying to think of a lie to tell him to back out, but in the end I decided that one date would not hurt.

About 3 hours later, I started getting text messages from the gossip squad at my church about my "hot date with T." Great...now everyone at church is going to know.

It was better then I thought it would be, but he is weird, makes things awkward, and doesn’t tickle my basement. For example, we were waiting in line to get Diet Cokes and I mentioned how hot it was. His response, "yes you are." Ah....ok....thanks....it got weird. The night was not a total loss. T has wonkey eyes and I never knew which one to look at. Don’t ask for the details, but I did a few experiments to make sure my conclusion was accurate and infact his right eye is the "good" eye.

I made it through the date, but now have to face him and the gossip squad tomorrow at church. Steph keeps laughing at me because I was suckered into the date and also thanking me because now he will not ask her out, as we are roommates.

Quiz: Below are two pictures. One is of my date. The other is of the boy at my church that I like to refer to as "my church boyfriend." Does he know this...No. Have I tried talking to him.... twice, but it was not good. Did he win my heart over by his sweet roller-skating moves.... yes. Which is which?

W.W.W. Part 1

I think I am going to start a new series on my blog entitled www, what went wrong. Here is the first installment of many:

This past Sunday I made Steph take a picture because it seems like all that pictures I have of us, we both look a little rough. I figured our "pre-church" dress up would work, but what went wrong? We took two pictures and Steph looks great. Consistent smile and beautiful in both pictures. Then there is me. Did I have a stroke? Are half of my facial muscles getting more exercise then the other half? Is life only half happy? If I was a stranger looking at this picture I would assume that someone had a little to much to drink.

Hum....guess Steph and I still need another picture.

Ok, so I think this was just a fluke thing. Maybe this was taken pre breakfast diet coke. While posting this I started to get a little worried, but here is a picture from about 2 minutes ago....I think my face evened out.....that was close!

Too Funny

This was an actual conversation that happened in my office today....I could not stop laughing.

Coworker: I was doing research for my blog and found some really ugly pictures of Kelly Clarkston, but I still think she is hot.

Me: Ya, some people think she might be a lesbian.

Coworker: That was a problem in high school too. They should have been more upfront with me. They like the same music as me....they like folk music. Now that I look back at it, how could I not have seen it and why didn't someone say something to me.

Me: Laughing so hard, I was silent for a good 40 seconds.

My New Boyfriend

At work we are contracting with a new search optimization company and one of my clients is very search hands on so I have been pushing to make this happen. In talking with my search folks, I kept hearing the vendors name "Norm" being thrown around. I decided that I liked this Norm person. I saw him as an old, friendly, passive, overweight guy that works in a cube all day. In my mind, he was the type of person that you did not necessarily remember, but whom everyone liked. "Norm" kind of became a joke with myself and the search team. I kept saying that I wanted to meat and work with Norm.

Today, the search manager came to my desk because we needed to call Norm to ask a few questions. We called and I was surprised to hear that Norm was not an old guy, but seemed to be younger then I was imagining and had pretty decent people skills. He had emailed my coworker a document, but since we were at my desk I need him to send it to me. Perfect, now Norm knows my name too. We are making steps in the right direction.

I replied to his email with a "thanks" with my real intentions being so he would have my phone number. :) Norm was able to make a few of my clients request happen so he made the "Things I Heart" list.

We got off the phone and what do you know....Norm emailed me back with a "It's my pleasure." Norm hearts me too!

We quickly got on myspace, linked in, and facebook and were able to find him in all three places. Norm is 34, single, looking for a relationship, only has 2 myspace friends (that are not real friends), his hero is Jesus, and he likes to ride motorcycles. He also is not half bad looking:

We were so proud of our detective work, but also realized how scary the Internet is that by a persons name you can find out all sorts of personal information about them.

Well, I wrote back to Norm that, "No, the pleasure is all mine." At about 8:00p tonight, he wrote back, "Too funny." I think it's love, but why does it feel like we are online dating?

Norm and the search team are setting up a date to meet in Salt Lake City and are under strict instructions to make sure I will be in the office during the visit. More to come........

Scandalous

Wednesday I had quite the business trip. Tuesday night I went to the concert and did not go to sleep until about 2:00. I woke up at 4:00 to catch a flight to Las Vegas, change planes, and fly to San Diego for a client visit. We were doing a creative review so I took a few coworkers with me.

Aside from being dead tired, it was a pretty good visit. We finished around 3:30, but our two flights back home did not leave until 8:20. We found a Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed a great meal together.

Since we were flying Southwest, we all picked out own seats. A coworker of mine took a window seat. Danny and I were two rows behind them on the isle and window. The first leg was not very full, but a guy about our age sat on the isle by my coworker. They struck up a conversation and about 10 minutes into the flight he moved to the middle seat to get closer.

As the flight progressed, Danny and I watched them viciously flirt with each other as they laughed, touched, leaned across each other, and ordered drinks. Danny and I were like little kids in a candy store. This was way better then any TV show we were missing. We were about to land and we started to get mad. If this guy did not kiss her, he was the biggest chicken ever. You could feel the sexual tension two rows back and it was obvious even to us what she wanted.

We landed and noting....except he did not get off the plane and was flying to SLC also. We were in luck.

About 10 minutes into the second flight they kissed, and kissed, and kissed. They continued to make out for the remainder of the flight home. At first Danny and I were cheering as he finally made a move, but I quickly started to feel like a pervert and had to look away.

We got off the plane and started to walk out. One coworker asked the other coworker how her flight was and I smiled. Danny, in his great whit said, "The craziest thing happened to me. I met a total stranger on the flight and we made out the whole way home." I could not stop laughing as my coworker tried to deny that she kissed him. We caller her out and all had a good laugh. I finally made it home around 1:30 and was still stunned.

It was so much better then reality TV. This one goes down in the books and best business trip thus far.

Michael oh Michael

This past Tuesday Steph, Julie (Steph's sister) and I went to the Michael Buble concert and I don't think I will ever be the same again.

My life has been out of control busy so I really was not thinking that much about the concert. There were a lot of older women there that were clearly in love with Michael and I just did not see it....at first. He was cute, but not anything that great.

Michael was AMAZING. He is an amazing singer and sounds great live. He hammed it up through the entire concert and put on a great show. He really is what I would call an "Entertainer." There are no fancy back up dancers, fireworks or tricks. Just old fashion raw talent. His band was also great and I really liked that he realised how important the band is to his musical success. He sang a lot of my favorites and a few songs that are becoming my new favorites.

I can't explain it, but as the night went on I started to feel what everyone else was feeling. At first I liked him. As he started to sing more I started to love him. And at the end of the show he became emotional and thanked everyone and said how on nights like tonight he remembers that just 10 years ago his dad was a fisherman trying to get him gigs and now he was on top of the world. It was a this part that I wanted to have his children. You cannot fake that kind of talent and pure goodness. He is one of the very few famous people that I think are truly a good person and deserve the best.

Ever since this time I have become obsessed. Steph and I even looked at going to LA or Seattle to see him perform again.

I know that in my previous post I said I wanted to be a famous singer, but I would also compromise for marring a famous singer. Michael can sing me to sleep any night.

Here are a few video clips from the show. You can't really see much, but you can get a feel for how great he is live.

Music

For those of you who really know me, know that I am a HUGE music lover. I have never been good with word, but music really does it for me (especially live music). It can totally change my mood or just add to it. Also, my most vivid and fondest memories all have a song tied to them. I can remember things better when I hear a song then I can by looking at a picture. Here are a few random music tidbit about me for your reading pleasure.

What CD's are in my Car:
Disk 1 - Justin Timberlake - FutuerSex/LoveSounds
Disk 2 - Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape
Disk 3 - Fergie - The Dutchess
Disk 4 - Book of Mormon on CD - Disk 12
Disk 5 - Brandi Carlile - The Story
Disk 6 - Timberland - Shock Value

What songs I am currently obsessed with:
-Brandi Carlile/ The Story CD - I recommending listening to this as loud as possible
-Eve - Tambourine - How can you listen to this and not shake it
-Lip Gloss by Lil Mama - It is the dumbest song, but every time I listen to it, it makes me laugh

If I had one wish:
I would be a professional guitar player/singer/dancer and do nothing but tour the world to sold out crowds. I have had some unforgettable and spiritual experiences at concerts and always think how amazing that must feel to be the singer.

I think about this so much, that I often dream about it. In my dreams, I have performed with Gwen Stefani, shaken my thing with the Spice Girls, sung a duet with Brandi, opened for Aerosmith, stared in a Broadway play, dueled with Harry Connick Jr., and stared in a dance movie just to mention a few. (Yes, I think I can dance!)

Favorite Concert:
Aerosmith - Steven Tyler really does put on a great show!

Aerosmith
Hootie and the Blow Fish
Garth Brooks
Shania Twain

Musical Instruments:
Piano
Guitar (sort of)
and before I die I want to learn to play the cello and violin

Confessions:
-I own a Karaoke machine that includes 2 mics, a camera, and the ability to hook up the words to the TV.
-There are 3 songs I play everyday on my way to work to get myself psyched
-I signed up to get emails about the Spice Girls up coming tour
-I know all the words to almost every "oldies" song.

To My Neighbor

My new hobby....scooping poop and literally flinging it across the street onto my neighbors lawn. Yes, I did see you bring your dog over while you got your mail and you may have not been looking, but I was and saw him poop.....right on my lawn. Next time I may just carry your dog's poop across the street and leave it on your front porch. Not cool Mr. Neighbor.
