See You Later

You have been a big part of who I am and what I look like for so long, but tonight I say my final goodbye. You have helped make my life more clear and memorable. We have been through a lot together. You are the only thing that has been with me everyday for the past 8 years, but tomorrow we are over and I am on my own again. People say I look so different without you and many people have commented on how well you look, but I miss knowing what time it is when I first wake up. I want to lie down when I watch a movie; I want to not squint when I drive; I want to watch TV at the gym.

Don't think this is a final goodbye. I have been assured that you and I will meet up again when I am in my 40's and want to read the morning paper, but for now goodbye.

Best Email Ever

Today, our V.P. of Strategic Offerings emailed me a question asking what was going on with a certain situation with one of my clients. I explained to him what we were doing about it and this was the email I got back:

Lindsay,

You rock.

Ron

This has to be my most favorite email ever!

Hawaii

I was a little worried because on the flight down I took one for the team and let Steph and the isle seat. Betty Jo Davis sat next to me and started the conversation telling me she wished I were a nurse because she was going to be on oxygen during the flight. Great.... even though the safety presentation said "some" seat can be used as a flotation device I knew it would no matter for Steph and I because the oxygen tanks would blow before we even hit the water. Betty Jo was quite the talker and lucky me, we figured out we were on the same flight back.

In true form, I burnt myself the first day at the beach and spend the rest of the time on the beach under an umbrella. That umbrella and I became good friends. I even fished it out of the ocean once. We did the tourist thing at Pearl Harbor, the Swap meet, Diamond Head, and the Polynesian Cultural Center...Love me some islanders.... wow!

We were still able to watch and cheer as Melinda Doolittle was voted off and catch a bit of the office. I looked for "Darma" and the survivors around every corner, but they are still Lost.

We at Matsumoto Shaved Ice just about everyday and I only threw up once.... but I think it had more to do with the Sun to Diet Coke ratio vs. Lindsay to shaved ice.

Steph and Angela took lots of great pictures while I drove around ready to pull off at any time. Angela wins the "bargain shopper" award because she is a sucker for any type of a deal.

Overall it was a great and very relaxing vacation. Even though we were 4 hours behind our normal time we slept in everyday, drank diet cokes on the beach, ate fresh seafood every night, and we all got along.

My favorite trees.

The Dole plantation.

Here we are at the PCC.

This was the beach I had to fish my umbrella out of the ocean at.

A great shot thanks to Steph.

Bringing Sexy Back....greasy beach style.

Really

My dinner conversation went a little like this:

Lindsay: I need to mow the back yard. It's a jungle out there.

Steph: You can't mow the lawn. You are so far behind on TV that you have to watch TV tonight. If you mow the lawn, I am not waiting to watch A.I. with you.

Lindsay: But I can do it really fast. It will only take me like 20 minutes.

Steph: If you can finish before I am done with the dishes I will wait.

Lindsay (As I shove the rest of my dinner in my mouth): Ok, I will be really fast.

Really....watching TV vs. being outside.

P.S. It is now 3 hours past dinner and Steph just scolded me for trying to turn off the TV.

Things That Made My Day

I am a big believer that it is the little things that count and today....here they are:

1. Eating a brownie for breakfast
2. Listening to my new favorite song so loud I think I blew a speaker in my car (Forca by Nelly Furtdao)
3. Finding out the Spice Girls might reunite!
4. Having the fountain machine constantly drip extra diet coke syrup
6. Visiting a friend over lunch for an "Oil Change"
5. Knowing that at this time next week I will be on the beach

So Wise

Stephanie got me hooked on the Fray and this month it is what keeps running through my mind.

'Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same'

I am ready for it to get easy again...only 7 more days until Hawaii.

I Heart Gwen

Last night was the Gwen Stefani concert and I loved it. It had to be one of the best concerts I have ever been to. She sang all of my favoite songs off her new cd and some classics from her previous album. The crowd was great and I loved the moments when Gwen would stop singing and we would sing the words. Thanks Gwen, come back soon.
