Where There’s One, There’s Many

My cat sucks! Last night we heard this mouse in Steph’s room and somehow we were able to get a picture of it, but my cat became board and left….what kind of a cat does that? Below are a few facts that have kept me from sleeping well at night. The “jumping” one pushed me over the edge.

→ The house mouse is remarkably well-adapted for living year-round in homes, food establishments and other structures. Homeowners are especially likely to notice mice during winter, following their fall migration indoors in search of warmth, food and shelter. Once mice become established inside a home, they can be extremely difficult to control.
→ A mouse can jump down 12 feet without injury. What's more, mice have a 12 inch vertical jump. Mice can also scale rough vertical surfaces and walk along thin ropes and wires.
→ If your dog or cat unexplainably gets excited, it is more than likely that mice are moving about.

Today at lunch I bought a mouse trap that can catch multiple mice. They get trapped in and the best part is you can see them through the clear plastic…..more to come with this one…..hopefully!

What really has me worried is that I saw a mouse today at work….is it me?

My First Time

At the entrance to my neighborhood is sign that displays the speed you are going. It is not always on, but when it is I like to race and see how fast I can go past it. It was about 9:00 and I was on my way home from dinner and notice that it was on. There weren’t any cars in front of me and the sign was on so naturally I started to excel trying to beet my best speed. Right as I passed the sign I notice the cop on the other side of the street pulling out. I pulled over and he pulled right up behind me and turned on his lights. He asked if I knew I was speeding and I said yes. He then asked if I new there was a radar sign displaying my speed and I said yes when in truth I wanted to say yes, I was racing it…..how high does it go? I handed him my license and registration and waited while he went back to his car. I then had the joy of waiting in my car for about 5 minutes while all my neighbors drove by slow enough to get a good look at who was pulled over. The kind officer gave me a ticket for only 9 over and in 5 to 7 days I can call to see how much it is for. The good news is I broke my record speed, but the bad news is I can no longer say I have never had a speeding ticket.

It Snowed Last Night

It’s the little things that make my day. Today it was a venti, nonfat, vanilla steamer. Thanks Starbucks.

To Save A Buck

Today at lunch…..I lost it. It started in the drive through of Panda Express and ended with the loss of five dollars. The drive through only had a few cars so I thought I would start there. After not moving an inch in 10 minutes, I backed up, parked and walked inside. I waited another 15 minutes but as the person in front of me started to order I knew there was still a long road ahead before I had my lunch. She pulled out her free entree coupon and started asking questions to figure out what was the best deal. She wanted noodles as an entrée, not in a combo, and in a to-go box. Five minutes later I ordered my rice bowl and continued to the cashier. I bumped into her again because she wanted two spring rolls, but she had to make sure they gave her the two she picked out. Here is where it gets really fun. She was paying for her order with her friend, but she needed to know how much her total was to pay back her friend. Apparently she does not know how to read a receipt. She then started the debate to make sure her $2 free entrée was included in the total. The cashier credited her spring rolls and not the noodles. She debated with the cashier about this for 3 minutes all the while the line behind me was getting antsy. Finally, I could not take it anymore and I lost it. It went a little something like this: “Lady, here is five bucks. Pay the damn bill and go eat. If you really want to save money, make your own lunch and don’t eat out.” She took the five dollars and paid the bill. She then realized she forgot to order a drink and had to be rung up again. The people behind me were half scared half grateful. Needless to say, not my most Christ like moment, but I felt better after.
